THERMOFORMING MOLDS

THERMOFORMING MOLDS

Optimized for high output

Thermoforming is a time-convenient and easy process that involves high temperature molds that press fleeces into shape.

Invented in the 50s by John Wesley Hyatt, thermoforming has seen many improvements and found a wide variety of applications over time, becoming one of the most popular technologies for manufacturing a great quantity of products in a short amount of time.

Thermoforming is known to be a good solution for molding since it allows for a shorter lead time and a lower initial investment compared to classic methods.

We focus on manufacturing first-rate Thermoforming molds that are most suitable for large production volumes, specifically for applications like Automotive and Railway componentry.

Every mold is designed in CAD 3D down to the tiniest detail to improve duration during its production process, which is in-house simulated with our Mould testing press.

For the most part Thermoforming molds are made from aluminum, but can be Teflon coated to further improve their production capabilities.

Every single mold comes with a 3D dimensional report as a proof of its high precision.

As of today, we have produced more than 150 Thermoforming molds.

QUALITY TESTS

NON DESTRUCTIVE TESTING

On each mould made Elledi implements NDT: a set of analysis and testing techniques that allow to check the internal structure, integrity, welding defects and surface cracks of a product.

DIMENSIONAL REPORT

Thanks to the use of ATOS Core, a high resolution 3D optometric scanner, we scan and inspect all molds ensuring their compliance with the project specifications.

FINISHES

WELDING

High quality welding  is performed by our  skilled and experienced operators.

THERMAL TREATMENT

Should the project require it, thermal treatment is carried out by our external partners.

POLISHING

The CNC-worked surfaces are flattened and refined through manual polishing.
